Rogues

Rogues in the World:

Thieves are your pickpockets, con men, and heisters. Anyone who focuses on taking what’s not theirs can be considered a thief. Many are simply down on their luck and unable to survive in any other way, some enjoy it for its own sake or like the extra cash it provides for a cushy life. Lone thieves are the most common, but plenty of guilds exist, knowing that teamwork can provide bigger profits for each individual than solo work.

Assassins rarely practice their profession for free. Nearly all assassins act as agents of those who can afford them. Assassins are found in many different ways, plenty act as freelancers, constantly looking out for the next job, often a lucrative option but also the most dangerous, as nobody will stick their neck out for a mercenary assassin. Some are on retainer, given room and board, perhaps extra money and lands in return for being available whenever their benefactor needs them. Finally, there are assassin guilds, very regimented and take a cut of any profit, but provide their members with resources and backup as well as steady work.

Arcane Tricksters are usually found in two varieties. First there are those who simply seek to enhance their own skills and apply them to their craft. These can be thieves or assassins or simple street swindlers who need an edge. Second there are organized Tricksters who use their abilities to further their knowledge and accomplish larger goals such as found in adventuring. Some are even known to be accepted into The Order of the Emerald Inferno, as they have reason to use the skills a Trickster brings to the table.
