Bards

Bards in the world:

Bards have been granted a Writ of Trust by a governing body to relay news and events to the local populace. Most bards begin as local criers and entertainers, but as they gain skill and renown they attract patrons of greater and greater standing. This is turn is reflected in having Writs of Trust from more influential members of society. This is important because no claim to titles, events, land ownership, or acts of heroism are considered legitimate until it is espoused by a bard of suitable standing. In this way, bards are extremely important to society and good bards are sought by all in power.
